Job Description:

The Associate Doctor is responsible for the proper care of Practice Members in a professional and efficient manner while maintaining a high ethical standard in a Subluxation Wellness-Based Practice.

The Wellness Centres is a high volume practice allowing you to hone your skills. The average daily number of Practice Members exceeds 120! The Chiropractic & Wellness Centre is expanding and already has two offices in Accra (Capital City), one office in Cape Coast (the educational City), one office in Takoradi (Second largest port in the country) and the other in Kumasi (the garden city of Ghana). Each new outreach Centre will provide some of the Associate Doctors with the opportunity to develop a new Chiropractic Centre.

The official language of Ghana is English but there are several other local languages spoken by Ghanaians. You will be provided Chiropractic assistants who will assist you with translation for those occasional practice members who do not speak English.

Our Centres are networked with state of the art Chiropractic technology (Atlas System: www.atlaschirosys.com ). Our Centres vary from high end to very basic facilities.

Responsibilities:

1. Case Management:

a. Render Chiropractic care to Practice Members
b. Adjust Practice Members
c. Examine
d. Scan (Surface EMG and Thermography)
e. Report findings
f. Analyze radiographic film
g. Educate the Practice Members
h. Represent the Centre and market its services to potential Practice Members
i. Advise Practice Members
j. Develop wellness plans for Practice Members

2. Internal and External Marketing Activity

1. Write one column every two months for the Centre’s Newsletter
2. Participate in occasional “Public Spinal Screenings”
3. Assist with “out of office” events related to the Wellness Centre
4. Make referrals to ancillary services and products

i. Orthotics
ii. Nutri-Spec
iii. Massage
iv. Wellness Programs
v. Nutritional Consulting

3. Organizational Support

1. Give Reports (written and verbal)
2. Make recommendations to head of Centre regarding:

i. Performance of the Centre
ii. Performance of employees

3. Supervise employees
4. Train employees and incoming Associate Doctors
5. Train and supervise PEAK interns

Targets:

• Maintain customer satisfaction
• Maintain and increase high volumes
• Assess and Improve Practice Members health and well-being
• Deliver effective Chiropractic Adjustments
• Set personal targets for self-improvement
• Establish rapport with Practice Members, potential members and team mates

Qualifications:

o Degree in Chiropractic from an accredited university
o Capacity to perform in a high volume fast paced environment
o "Coachable"
o Team Player: Work effectively with assistants and employees and teammates
o Deal with cross-cultural situations
o US National Board and State Licensing Requirements are NOT necessary

Volunteer Package

• Minimum of three (3) month commitment
• Five day week
• Subsidized furnished accommodation
• Personal Assistant (To cook, clean, shop and assist you)
• Transportation to and from the Wellness Center
• Travel Documents: You must have a valid passport and obtain an initial tourist visa issued by the Ghana High Commission prior to arrival. Please apply only for a tourist visa ($50-$75). The Centre will obtain the necessary work document during your stay in Ghana. You also require a valid Yellow Health Card Booklet with Yellow Fever Vaccination.
• You are responsible for your own transportation to and from Accra, Ghana.

We offer both volunteer and compensated Associate Doctor Positions.

Compensation Package:

The package is valued at approximately $50,000 USD. (Actual package is determined according to your experience):

• Eighteen month renewable agreement
• Monthly Salary
• Five day work week
• Subsidized furnished accommodation
• Personal Assistant (To cook, clean, shop and assist you)
• Transportation to and from work
• Mobile Phone and driver

Taxes:

• US IRS: applies taxes only to total compensation in excess of $80,000; albeit you must declare your IRS taxes based on this package you will pay no US taxes.
• Ghana tax law implies that you pay the prescribed that you pay a PAYE (Pay As You Earn), which is graduated from 0% to 25% monthly.

Travel Documents:

• Emergency/Extension Visas are paid for and handled by the Centre. You will be sponsored and supported by the Centre. A work permit specifically relating to your work with the Centre will be obtained by the Centre after your arrival. You will have to provide us with a Police Clearance Report from your home country to facilitate the process.
• Travel Documents: You must have a valid passport and obtain an initial tourist visa issued by the Ghana Embassy / High Commission prior to arrival. Please apply only for a tourist visa ($50-$75). You will also need a valid Yellow Health Card Booklet with Yellow Fever Vaccination.
• You are responsible for your own transportation to and from Accra, Ghana.
